HI.
When you are a diagnosed case of an ovarian cyst, this becomes the most probable reason in spite of the fact that you have pain in the right side of the abdomen and the ovarian cyst is on the left ovary.
Other reasons of pain in right side like appendicitis, colitis , typhlitis, lymph node...

Does ovarian cancer cause high wbc? My sister was told yesterday they are basically 100 hundred percent sure she has ovarian cancer and there is a 3 inch tumor on her ovary. They sent her to the specialist today who said her white blood cell count is high so they want to wait on the results from that as well. Her white blood cell count was 95,000 would the ovarian cancer cause this or might it be a different type of cancer or even something else.

Hi, dear.
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. Ovarian cancer limited to ovary only doesn't cause this much high wbc count. But if it spread to the bone marrow then it czn produce leukoerythroblastic reaction and can cause it. However possibility is very low....

I think im pregnant but my cousin is scared i have ovarian cancer. I pretty much have all the pregnancy symptoms. I thought i had 2 positive pregnancy tests but when i ntook another it was negitive. she told me having ovarian cancer could make pregnancy tests come up positive. Is that true?

doctor1 MD

Hello, and i hope I can help you today.

First of all, I do not know how old you are, but if you are young and of reproductive age, your risk of ovarian cancer is extremely rare. The average age at diagnosis of ovarian cancer is 62 years of age.
In addition, only one type of ovarian cancer can...

I read that gastritis may be masking a case of ovarian cancer. It was a recent article but I don't remember where. My wife's mother died from ovarian cancer. She has one sister (out of 3) who has had breast cancer twice. Christina, my wife has had gastritis for months now. Her doctor performed endoscopy and found everything appears normal. Christina's gynecologist performed an exam including ultrasound over 2 years ago and found nothing unusual. What are the chances of Christina having ovarian cancer? Shouldn't she have a complete exam at least once a year? Medicare won't pay for more than once every 2 years. Is there a good blood marker for ovarian cancer besides CA125? Thanks!! ...Ron

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

Gastritis is inflammation of the mucosa of stomach in reaction to increased amount of acid formation. It is unlikely for gastritis to be responsible for ovarian cancer. However if there is cancer ovary in her family then your wife might do a ovarian cancer tumor marker...

My sister had her uterus removed when she was 31 years old. A procedure last two months showed shadows on her ovaries as well as a blood count over 700 which she was told is indicative of ovarian cancer. She is due to have a biopsy next month but she is beside herself with worry. Our mother died of ovarian cancer when she was 35 which was also over 70 years ago. My sister is 69 and has been watchful with no problems until now.

I had been suffering with constant pelvic pain for nearly one year. The last couple of days I have needed to urinate all the time. I had an ultrasound done in January and a second in XXXXXXX along with a full range of blood tests including the ca125 test. I'm still really worried that I have ovarian cancer even though my gp doesn't seem worried.

doctor1 MD

Hello and thank you for the query.

I am confident you do not have ovarian cancer. This is especially true in the setting of a normal ultrasound and normal CA125. If it were ovarian cancer there would definitely be abnormal test results which is simply not the case for you - let me reassure you...
