May-thurner syndrome

What is May-thurner syndrome?

It is compression of the common venous outflow tract of the left lower extremity. It causes discomfort, swelling, pain or blood clots, called deep venous thrombosis (DVT). Treatment requires angioplasty and stenting of the iliac vein.
