High-functioning autism

What is High-functioning autism?

The term High-functioning autism refers those autistic patients who have high performance in cognitive function than other people with autism. But they exhibit deficits in areas of communication, emotion recognition and expression, and social interaction. This is also called as Asperger syndrome. Anxiety is also often associated with HFA and the main treatment is cognitive behavior therapy.
