I have fibrosis of the lungs. Never smoked, have hiatus hurnia , suffer from reflux, on to topzole recently. Been on prednisone 2 years and stopped. Picked up weight and skin looks old and dry. Have no energy and shortness of breath. Is the reflux the cause of fibrosis.

I can understand your problem and situation.
Pulmonary fibrosis is not a good disease to have. It is chronic , progressive disease. Till date no cure is available. Reflux disease can not cause directly but contribute in worsening of fibrosis by micro aspirations....

hello doc , i have osf (oral sub mucuos fibrosis ) i have been chewing from last 7 yrs ..i quit one month back and now i have startd feeeling burning sensation ..i just cant able to enjoy food or anything ! and yes i drink alcohal once a week and smoke regularly ! pls advice !

hi, sir my father could not open mouth fully from 3 months onwards we visited dental doctors at govt and pvt hospitals , and they are not able to tell what is the desease infected to my father they are giving injections to both the jaws and some medicines of painkiller but there is no improvement let me know the desease.

My father is 60. he developed a pleural effusion about a week ago which got slightly complicated. the fluid became pus (acute bacterial empyema). a substantial volume of the fluid has been drained through a tube, and he seems fine. latest x ray shows an elevated diaphragm. what is a possible prognosis for that, and what should be done next?
resolution of empyma was done with fibrosis , so diaphram is elevated. After fibrosis developed , nothing has to be done.

Hi, I lost my baby at 22 weeks in November and have been told it was fibrosis of the placenta and I will have to take low dose aspirin to combat this, can I also help with my diet, any strengthening foods you would recommend?
