What is Fetal distress?

Fetal distress is an alarming sign in a pregnant woman that indicates that the fetus may not be well in the womb. It is observed when the fetal movements felt by the mother are either absent or very poor. There are certain reasons for fetal distress which may be diagnosed clinically or other investigation procedures.
