What is Female pattern baldness?

Female pattern baldness or androgenic alopecia is a condition of unknown etiology characterized by a diffuse reduction in hair density over the crown and frontal scalp with retention of the frontal hairline. There is a progressive miniaturization of hairs, resulting in loss of hair density and widening of the midline part clinically.
