Questions and answers on "Diarrhea"

I started having diarrhea pretty severally yesterday. I'm not eating much now but am still having diarrhea. The diarrhea is almost clear with little yellow bits that are sinking to the bottom. I was getting concerned that this might be more than a stomach bug because I've never seen this type of diarrhea before.
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, if the passing of stool is frequent with loss of water and contained the mucus then it could be the case of bacillary dysentery the first thing is to take care for dehydration and second is specific antibiotic to control the infection and the...

I am just a bit concerned, my son has had diarrhea off an on for the last month. He is feeling fine, but as of today has had liquid stools. This happened about two weeks ago and before that he had it twice over two weeks. At the beginning of the year he had campylobacter. Apart from needing to suddenly go to the toilet he is feeling fine. The last time this happened (two weeks ago) he had it for about 5 days. I was just about to take a sample to the lab to be tested - but the diarrhea stopped. I am wondering why he is having a lot of diarrhea. It has all been just liquid. Do you have any advice on this.
Thank for your query.
Noted the history about your son having frequent diarrhea over one month, needs sometimes to rush to restroom, sample could not be sent to the lab as the diarrhea stopped.
Since the problem is lingering for about a month, I would advise you the following:
Send the sample...

I have been living in hong kong for six months (from us). for the last four months, I have been suffering from diarrhea. I took three courses of cipromycin over the course of three months. Each time i finished a course, I would return to normal bowel movements. Then, over the next few weeks the diarrhea would return. When the diarrhea returned fir the fourth time, I had lab work done which showed no parasites or bacteria. A second doctor explained that giardiasis may not show up in stool samples. He had me take tinidazole for fear that I had giardiasis. He gave me a 4 pill single dose which I took last night. This morning I had large volumes of diarrhea that was yellow in color and mostly structured as soft formed coils of stool. I became queasy when I had the diarrhea. Later in the day I noticed smaller amounts of diarrhea that floated. Does this indicate that the drug is working and that I do indeed have giardiasis?

Hi, I have had upper and lower abdominal pain for the last few months along with diarrhea. I have had my gallbladder removed approximately 5 months ago. I understand diarrhea is to be expected with that. But what concerns me is the constant abdominal pain. I had diarrhea 3 times over the course of an hour today. When I looked in the toilet the diarrhea looked stringy. A week or so ago the diarrhea was a rust red color with black spots on it. Any ideas would help please. Thanks

Over the last month I have diarrhea almost ever day and almost every time I eat anything. Most of the time I have yellow liquid, which I thought might be bile, in the diarrhea and it can be seen on the toilet paper. Today I drink a red gatorade on an empty stomach and a few hours later I ate some lunch and almost immediately had diarrhea that looked like the red gatorade or blood. I am almost 35 yrs old, 5ft 5in and weigh 198lbs.

I have hep c. I have had abdominal pain on the right side. I am nauseated and had diarrhea. My bowel sounds are always hyperactive and loud. I usually get full after taking a few bites and then I have diarrhea with in thirty minutes of eating. I was in the hospital recently and had a ct done with oral contrast. Everything came back good except one of the test for liver function was slightly abnormal. The doctor said my appendix was on the larger side of normal. I have t followup with my gastroenterologist. Its frustrating because I still have jpain and diarrhea. What does it mean to have an appendix that is large size of normal?
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.
Rad and re-read your history and clinically I am of the opinion that this may be appendicitis , that is causing the problems you have. Larger than normal is a radiological finding, this means the y have found an appendix which is larger than the...
