What is Bird fancier's lung?

Bird fancier's lung is a type of hypersensitivity pneumonitis caused by exposure to avian proteins.These proteins are inhaled from the dusty environment of bird droppings or from exposure to feathers. Breeders are usually the most at risk, although pet store employees may be affected.
