Dear sir, Elevated sgpt can be cause by hepatitis of any kind, biliary diseases, diabetes, some medicines and other liver damage. 489 is pretty high and thid definitely means something. You dont need to have symptoms during the early stage of disease. You can feel tired, have pain in right side...

I am early in my preg between 7 and 11 weeks and I am having severe morning sickness. I am not eating (maybe less than 400 calories a day) so when I start to vomit it usually is harsh dry heaving and maybe some saliva. Today I saw a few spots of red in my violent dry heaving spell in the toilet. I don't want to call my Dr bc they will just say got to ER as they suggested when I was throwing up everything last week but I chose not to go.

Hi. I went to the GI doctor for epigastric pain (which I have had in the past but was really present all of the sudden) a couple of months ago. It was center maybe center left below ribs. It even hurt when I pressed on my sturnum. Blood test revealed a slightly elevated lipase (around 90.) An abdominal MRI with contrast was clear except revealing an abdominal diastasis and possible hernia. An abdominal ultrasound reported nothing in gallbalddar. No findings on upper endoscopy. I even had a thoracic MRI without findings. I feel better with the pain but the lipase has crept up to 114. Any thoughts on this elevated lipase? Other tests that have been suggested to me are HIDA scan of gallbladdar and colonoscopy but I am not to eager to have additional testing right now unless it really warranted. Thank you so much!
Welcome to healthcaremagic

Lipase enzyme is mainly related with pancreatic function. Its level can increase in many medical condition like pancreatitis , biliary disease, trauma , medicines etc.
However the lipase level you have quoted is pretty much in normal range.Every lab uses slightly...

I have had white stools the last three days. The ONLY change in my diet has been that I started taking a probiotic three days ago. I got gas, bloating , a few cramps , and some pain in my back today. I looked up the use of probiotics and found that it could be contributing to the gas, bloating, etc. so I didn t take one today. But the stool has not returned to normal color yet. Should I wait a few days to see if the stool returns to normal color after not taking the probiotic? If it is a bile issue, will it create long term problems to wait a few days to see if it s the probiotic and the color returns to normal?
hi, white stools are seen in diseases of biliary tracts and liver. Problems of gas, bloating and few cramps may also be seen in these conditions. If jaundice is absent most likely you are having biliary disease most common being gall stone. probiobtic use does not cause these problems. So you...
