What is Auditory processing disorder?

An Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) is a type of Central (brain related) Auditory Processing Disorder where the patient's ear and central nerves are normal but there is a problem on the way sounds and speech is perceived and processed in the brain. It may be congenital / due to brain injury. Diagnosis / treatment/ rehabilitation is difficult.
