I am having normal India diet. 3 times meal, but the heavy meal will be on night because of work schedule.
My work requires very less mobility, as i work on IT.
On an average 3 hours per week I spend on small exercise. But I need to walk around 40 minutes daily as part of my travel to office.
Last year I had been diagnosed with Arthritis on the knee, degradation of patella.
One of the cause was my weight, I am 94 kg, 186 CM height , 31 years old.
For the past 6 years I am living in Europe (5yrs in Germany, and few months in London).
During winter I will get severe pain on knee, but during summer I am fine and when I am in India also it is fine. So I assume that cold weather is not really good for me .
Also I wanted to reduce my weight. I had tried different diet programs like GM diet. They had given a small break but it is again got worsen. I have a very big tummy in terms of size proportion that was the only over sized body part, because of that I also used to get lower back pain. So I have following questions.

1.      Moving out of cold countries will help my Arthritis ?
2.     What is the best diet I can follow? ( I am non vegetarian)
3.     Typical exercise I could do without hurting my knee more ?

My doctor wants me to see a rhematologist but the doctor he referred me to is 65 miles away and wants to charge me 500 dollars up front. My doctor doesn't even knoq if it is arthritis or not. I need a second opinion. I have to take ibuprophen 3 times a day, tramadol 3 times a day, and flexaril every 8 hours. I also have to take levothyroxin for my thyroid.

doctor1 MD

You also need to take lots of medicines and pain killers to relieve...

Please direct this question to an ortopedic surgeon and/or an alternative medicine specialist. i m a 57 y.o. male, outta shape and overweight with two dislocated shoulders - one worse than the other (supposedly 3rd degree seperation/subluxation) but both give me chronic pain. the worst one has the classic hump where the bone has popped up out of the joint it s the worst but, the other one gives me quite a bit of pain too. all i have for pain is ibuproffen(handfulls) acetaminofen, and alcohol. My Dr. had breifly prescribed Gabbapentin which like Tylenol wasn t much help, essentially negligible. Some years back i had convinced a VA surgeon to do the standard operation but, upon researching it, i learned that only 50% of the time was it effective and of those, 50% developed arthritis in the shoulder. I need some real options/alternatives Doc. Been living with chronic pain for 15 years - not to mention the lack of funtionality. Any suggestions?
