Questions and answers on "Aerobic exercise"

I am a 75 year old female. I work out and often lift small weights. Very athletic - still downhill ski and am a very keen gardener - huge garden in the country with garden tours. So I do a lot of lifting and shovelling. I have a fib and my present cardiologist, who is not very talkative, says that I shouldn't be lifting anything heavier than a sheaf of papers. Is she right? I don't want to sit in a rocking chair and knit.

Yes - thanks - I would love a hematologist's advice. I have Thalassemia trait - (minor) and my father had it, brother has it and i have it. My Hemaglobin, hematocrit, MCV MCH and platelets are all lower than normal. I assume this means my red blood cells are shaped funny or tinier or dont hold hemaglobin so well and/ or cells don't carry oxygen so well. I mostly feel fine - sometimes a little tired.
Should i take an iron supplement every day? Or will this do nothing or even be inadvisable. I'm confused weather i have too many red blood cells - too few - iron deficiency or not.

Brief Answer:
No iron supplementation is required in routine.

Hi Sir, I need your help related to sexual disorder I am going through. I believe I am suffering from SITUATIONAL Erectile dysfunction problem. I am not able to get enough hardness in my penis for intercourse. I think out of 10 times I end up 6 times NOT getting erection, my GF stays in Punjab and I am in Delhi so we meet once/twice a month and it gets really frustrating if we are not able to make love because of less erection. I didn't get erection first time we decided to make love in 2012, that time I thought it might be performance anxiety but it happened next time too. I tried SUHAGRA 50 mg tablet from local shop and really enjoyed sex with full hardness, but when I read online reviews about that medicine I am scared to use it. I believe my eye sight has taken a hit and my number dropped to -1. I might have taken 50 odd pills in the last 2 years. I then tried Musli Power for 45 days continuous in XXXXXXX 2013 and it really helped me. I was able to have sex without Suhagra for a patch of 6-7 months, but now the problem is again happening. I was able to have sex on Saturday 26th April on my own but not able to get full erection for next 3 days. I read a lot about sex and I do engage in lots of foreplay but the hardness goes away while putting a condom or just before entering my GF. Few times I get inside but loose erection while changing to new position.

Sir please help me, I don't want to loose my GF. I haven't told her the problem, but when I don't get hard in first go I tell that I am stressed/tired, then I go to washroom to pop a pill and we make love. Since we do less sex so I am managing with occasional pill but if we marry then I don't want to rely on that all the time.

I have a large, bothersome hernia that goes from under my breasts to my navel.I've been trying to lose weight but it is keeping my belly protruding and I've worked out daily for years. It's like all my muscles have gone and I need help. My gastrenterologist sent me to a surgeon. This surgeon keeps saying it's my gall bladder and has run tests and next is a Hideascan??? He says I need to go to a specialist surgeon for my hernia, and I think he's just making money off of me..How do I get rid of my belly and the hernia?? Oh, I have Parkinson's, and neuropathy in both legs and feet. I use a cane because my balance is so poor.

havn t been doing any physical activity for over a year and i ve just gotten back into running. i started with high intensity interval training (run for 30 seconds as hard as possible, then walk for a minute) right away did it for 2 nights like this: 5 min jog 4 mins of HIIT then id mix between walking and running. on the third night i did 5mins jog then 6 mins of HIIT and at the end of the HIIT i experienced pains in my heart area and had a really high heart rate also it felt weird when i took a deep breath but not a normal breath, i started walking and the pain went away, then when i started to jog again the pain came back after a while when my heart rate increased. i dont have a history of anything like this before and neither do any of my family. Am i just starting out too high for this sort of stuff and take it down a noch? btw im 17, 5 11 , and 181lbs.
