Hi Melasma is a benign facial melanosis. There are varieties of of treatment modalities. Local treatment would be application of cream containig azelaic acid or kojic acid or hydroquinone with retinoids and mild steroid. Oral treatment would be vitamin C, nicotinic acid or glutathion. Mild skin peeling with glycolic acid or salisylic acid may improve. Laser is also used. Thanks. Dr.Ilyas Patel MD
