What Are The Side Effects Of Vancomycin?
My 85 year old mother went to the doctors a couple of days ago and doctor drew blood and tested her urin. She had a stroke about 5 years ago which affected her voice and can talk and she demtia. She only says only 3 words and she can do more than 2 tasks. Not sure how she washes herself and she does not shows signs of any problems. Any ways the doctor perscribed vancomycin 4 times a day till meds are all gone. It is hard enough to get her to take pills, get dressed, go to doctors. She can not write things down on paper when some calls. Can you please let me know if the drug is safe and what are side affects. Thank you, butch

Vancomycin is an antibiotic, acts only on the infections of the intestines,as it is not absorbed it is devoid of the systemic side effects.
Let her take more of green leafy vegetables,pulses,sprouts,and protein rich foods to have blood,general health and resistance against infections. If not interested to take, give her the fresh juice of palatable vegetables.
