Hi, Renal cortical cysts arise from tubular or lymphatic obstruction. The incidence of renal cysts increases with age No treatment is required if cortical cyst is smaller than 3cm, and cause no symptoms, but needs follow up with USG. Lifestyle changes (Quit smoking and drinking) sometimes help control the cyst and lead to a benign prognosis. Regards Dr. T.K. Biswas M.D. Mumbai
