Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

Though there are many conditions that may produce toe pain, based on the description of your symptoms, I suspect GOUT in your case.

Estimation of serum uric acid levels and xray of the involved joint along with clinical examination will help in arriving at a possible diagnosis.

As there is no role for selfcare measures, I suggest you to consult an orthopedic surgeon for further management.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
