Hi, welcome to HCM. Enlarged gland very unlikely to cause pain. Could be stretching from enlarged gland or gland pressing on any nerve do results in pain. Regards

Hi Marcie In absence of infections like tonsillitis or laryngitis, lymphadenitis, if the neck swelling moves with swallowing it is highly suggestive of thyroid gland enlargement or goiter. GET examined by a surgeon. Reply with thanks.
