. We did not understand the reasons for hypothermia in your case for a Food poisoning and wine. What do you mean by the symptoms of attack? Hypotheremia is decline in core temperature below 35°C (95°F). Did that happen to you too? Here is some information about it. Primary hypothermia occurs because of accidental exposure to cold. Secondary hypothermia occurs when a disease state causes failure of thermoregulatory function. Hypothermia is more frequent among persons who are elderly, homeless, mentally ill, trauma victims, outdoor workers, and children. Treatment for hypothermia consists of drying, sheltering, and gradually warming using blankets. Appropriate clothing helps to prevent hypothermia. Wearing cotton in cool weather is a particular hypothermia risk as it retains water, and water rapidly conducts heat away from the body. Even in dry weather, cotton clothing can become damp from perspiration, and chilly after the wearer stops exercising. Synthetic and wool fabrics provide far better insulation when wet and are quicker to dry. Some synthetic fabrics are designed to wick perspiration away from the body. Drink warm, sweet beverages (sugar water, sports-type drinks) and avoid drinks with caffeine (coffee, tea, sodas or hot chocolate) or alcohol. Eat warm, high-calorie foods such as hot pasta dishes. Avoid exhaustion or fatigue because energy is needed to keep muscles warm.
