What Are The Causes Of Having Severe Left Flank Pain?
My mother is experiencing severe left flank pain. She said it felt like it did when she had shingles before so that s what she thought it was. After 2 dr. s visits and 1 ER trip we still don t have an answer. No other symptoms but the severe pain which she is currently taking tramadol and muscle relaxants for.

there can be two causes. First it can be due to shingles neuralgia. It can cause such pain yeas after the lesions so that should be our first diagnosis. Other cause can be a pinch nerve. For checking you can show to a neurologist.
For pain relief you should give your mom tablet pregabalin and methylcobal one at night time. Also there is role of nerve block.
