What Does Hypoechoic Thickening In Medial Collateral Ligament And Medial Patellar Retinaculum In Ultrasound Mean ?
Ive had some paiN in my left knee and this what my ultra-sound report says. Hypoechoic thickening in the medial collateral ligament and medial patellar retinaculum, in keeping with strain & partial tear. The remaining strustures about the left knww appear remarkable.
COULD YOU PLEASE TELL ME WITH THIS CONDITION AM I ABLE TO GO ON A 7 HOUR TRAMP ON thursday???
Ultrasoud finding of Hypoechoic thickening in the Medial collateral ligament (MCL) is an abnormal finding and suggests injury to the MCL.
Absolute rest is to be given to the joint and a knee support or splint is to be used for a period of 3 weeks. After this period, rehabilitation programme has to be started inorder to strengthen the soft tissues around the knee joint, inorder to regain the normal strength in them.
So, you are not supposed to involve in any sporting activities that may put additional stress on the already injured tissues, which may delay the healing process.
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
