Back And Buttocks Pain After Rhizotomy On Back. Is It Normal?

I had a rhizotomy on my back at L4, L5, S1 last Wednesday and had some pain from the procedure for about three days. After I sat for an hour at Church on Sunday I have had this really bad pain on the right side radiating in my back and buttock. I've had the same pain for four days now and cannot get rid of it. The doctor only did one side of the spine. He is suppose to do the other side (L) next week. Is it normal to have this kind of pain or has this procedure failed? When will I see results?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, for any procedures on the spine it will take a long time to get the relief of pain, physiotherapy is a must after the process.
I advise you to consult a physiotherapist for diagnosis and treatment.
I to my patient with such symptoms prescribe neurotropic injection, for 10 consecutive days. And to be continued one injection every weak, besides other medicines. Thank you.

Allergist and Immunologist Dr. Muhammad Ijaz Nasir's  Response
Thanks for your query. I am surprised to know about surgery on right and left side separately. After thorough investigations like C.T., MRI the surgery is performed only when you are assured that your nerves are being compressed by collapse or by induction of space in between the vertebrae and the surgery is done at the same time
You can regain the symptoms if you don’t take good care
•     Avoid the wrong postures.
•     I would advise you to do get your MRI done again and let me know the reports then I will guide you accordingly.
Thanks and best regards
