Separated Shoulder Previously. Relieved After Icing, Resting. Now, Having Sharp Pains In The Same Shoulder. Serious?

I separated my right shoulder last year. I iced and rested it for about 8 weeks, and it hasn t hurt since than. Than yesterday I started to feel sharp pains in the same shoulder, almost as if my bones are rubbing against each other, and when that happens i get these sharp pains. Any idea what it could be, and if so, how serious of an injury? Thanks

Hi,
By separation if you mean dislocation of shoulder .Shoulder being most mobile joint in body, affects day to day life when damaged. Dislocations have tendency to recur.
It seems you have recurrence of shoulder dislocation. You were lucky to be relieved with ice pack & rest last time. but the recurrence with painful movements demands immediate attention.
Please consult an Orthopedic doctor . A physical examination & X ray decide the line of treatment. Reduction/immobilization/ medicines/ surgery are different options for treatment.
thanks
