Coughing, Sensation That Scar Tissue Will Rupture. Tonsillectomy Done. History Of Strep Throat. Treatment?
I am 40 years old and had tonsillectomy at 12 after repeated rounds of strep . I had to go back in and have the incsicion burned because I broke some stitches. I still get strep about once every 5 years maybe. This time, when I cough I feel like the scar tissue maybe is about to rupture (thats the best way I can describe it). Is that even possible?? Im on amoxicillin and Im 128lbs and 5 2 ... .

HI I have gone through your mail and as you said that you had tonsillectomy at the age of 12 . now you are of 40 and still you have strep infection at the interval of five years.Now due to severe cough at present you are afraid of bursting of your stitches of previous operation scar,I would like to suggest you to take some cough sedative for decreasing the severity of cough and go for clinical examination of nose & paranasal sinuses to rule out other possible site for having strep infection thus you please consult your E.N.T.specialist for above purpose and treatment.Thanks
