The ball of my right foot is very painful for a few years now. I used to wear high heels especially for dancing, now I'm wearing boots with arch supports, which is very good but I would like to wear shoes again. but then I can not wear the arch supports. Please help. I'm a very active 66 year old. I exercise daily and dance twice a week.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us,

I have studied your case with diligence.

As per your symptoms there is possibility of calcaneal spur aliong with plantar fasciitis.
It is advisable to wear low heel shoe to maintain centre of gravity of whole body.

You may need x ray heel to see bony overgrowth.
Start plantar exercises consulting physiotherapist.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.

Take care
