Hi Welcome to HealthcareMagic forum Salty taste you percieve is the secretions from the sinuses, which is absolutely normal. When the secretions are thick, it gets struck in the back of the throat making you to gag. I would suggest you to drink plenty of warm water, do steam inhalation, avoid chilled beverages and coffee for few days. If the symptoms persist consult your doctor. Regards

this can be due to cystic fibrosis. His sweat and secretions will be slightly salty

Was the procedure involving upper or lower teeth? Nasal secretions may be from the sinus cavity which may have some relation with upper teeth dental procedures. However this is something that can be diagnosed through physical examination. I insist you to see a doctor. In the interim, start steam inhalation.
