What Is The Meaning Of The Transvaginal Ultrasound Result?

Hi, I just received my results from a transvaginal ultrasound. I'm hoping someone can translate the results. I am 42 years old with 2 children. Results are as follows: uterus is anteverted and measures 13.1 cm in length. Endometrial echo is 1.4 cm. sub endometrial fibroid measuring 2.8 cm. I have very heavy bleeding with 10 day periods. Any assistance on what this all means and possible actions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

According to reports uterus is normal in size and shape. There is single fibroid in the uterus measuring 2.8 cm in the subendometrial region.
Treatment modality is both conservative and surgical depending upon many things like age, family is completed or not, symptoms etc.
Endometrial thickness measures 14 mm and it varies with stage of menstrual cycle.
You should consult your gynecologist.
Hope i have answered your query.

Take Care
