Leprosy is not highly infectious. It is transmitted by droplets infection during close &frequent contacts with non-infected people. There is a 5% chance that someone in contact with a leprosy patient will contract leprosy. Leprosy loses its infectiousness quickly. A single dose of MDT kills 99.9% of bacteria. Patients are not infectious after 2 weeks of treatment thus isolation for 2 week is req
