Hard Lump On The Knee Cap After An Injury. Could It Be A Tendon Injury?
I had a full contact football scrimmage and went through it fine but after it I noticed a hard lump slightly to the left of my right knee cap. Had to have happened during game but it doesn t hurt if push on it. I can walk/run fine. It gets bigger when I straighten my leg. I think it might be a tendon that moved or something but not sure. Just happened today so I m icing it now thinking it might help. Any idea what it might be and anyway to treat it?
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
It seems to be a tendon injury or a hematoma in the area. Any serious bony injury is not likely. You can continue icing and take mild pain killers for relief.
In case the swelling persists, MRI scan is recommended to detect the extent of injury.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
