This will depend upon the type of diabetes.
IF this is Insulin dependent , you have to take injection insulin life long.
If this is of a mild form - you can control; it easily with a good combination of exercises+ diet + medicines. Well determined patient can control the first 2 things so nicely that he may not need medicines.
You have to contiunue medicines under guidance of a Doctor

Eating semolina is fine but that also should be in nominal amount.
you can eat more of vegetables and pulses as they will not give many claories but more vitamins and fibers and proteins.
