What Is The Reason For Undiagnosed Muscle Pain?

Hi, my wife seems to have some kind of myalgia, which hasn t been properly diagnosed. In July last year she had a nasty flu and it took her almost 4 weeks to recover, except for one symptom - pain in her upper right abdomen area. The first GP she saw in August recommended antibiotics and it didin t work. In September, when the pain increased and spreaded to the lower back she saw another GP who organised Xray, Ultrasound and blood test. The Xray didn t show any abnormalities in the spinal chord/disks and all internal organs lokked well on ultrasound. The blood test revealed slightly high sugar and her blood pressure was a bit high. September GP referred her to osteopath for pain management and focused on high blood pressure and diabetes 2 treatment - carvosyl and genovia were prescribed. After 10 sessions the osteopath gave up on her - starting with confident I know exactly what s wrong and finishing with your body seems ok for a 67 yo and I did everything I could . The GP side track focus ended very badly in mid-October when I took my wife to emergency with severe chest pain. The good news was that after another series of tests including stress test they declared that her heart is perfectly healthy. After another 2 weeks of the same tratment my wife had an incident of severe attack of something very similar to anaphylactic shock - she thought she was going to die from sudden choking as if her aways were closing on her. Thlose 2 incidents inspired her to do a side effects search and she found that both could have been triggered by the prescribed medication. She stopped it, saw the same GP again and asked only for some pain killers and relaxants, as the pain was spreading further up her back. Initially (in July) she started on panadol and ibuprofen and later added nyprosin, panadeine/forte and diasepam plus she used a combination of creams including Deep Heat, Ibuprofen, voltaren etc. In November we decided to take altenative treatment and started acupuncture followed by acupressure plus some gentle stretchers that we found in one of Pain Free books. It seemed to work alittle bit until her acupuncturis went on holiday. After 2 weeks on pain killers and creams her condition became worse and I started to make desperate inquiries in search of a miracle Doctor. A more experienced acupuncturist was recommended and now, after the 4th session she s in more severe pain which has reached her neck. She spends most of her day lying in bed. It very painful for her to get up or lie down. She says that her lower body is ok but she can hardly walk as she feels pain in her upper body with every move. She s taking some chinese herbs alon with her painkillers coctail and I give her St John s Wort to manage depression. That where we re at the moment. I just spoke to her on the phone - she s crying and sounds desperate. Any suggestions? Thanks, Boris
