Need Remedy For Gestational Hypertension

I m 28 weeks pregnant with gestational hypertension. I m taking 200 mg of labetalol. My pulse has been relatively high for the past month, averaging between 105-113. I just took my blood pressure now, and it says 140/100 with a pulse of 130. I called my midwife about it. She doesn t seem all that worried? Is this worth a trip to the ER? Should I switch my midwife?

Hi,
Thanks for your question.
Yes, you need to be seen by an Obstetrician & a physician for good control. Specially your pulse rate is quite high. This is not a case for midwife alone.
Your thyroid functions should be checked & you should be given medicines to lower your pulse rate.
Hope you get well soon.
Take care.
