Have Chronic Pain, Sleep Deprivation. Suffered From Fibromyalgia Syndrome. On ENDEP. Help?
Dear SIir, I have suffered from fibromyalgia syndrome for several years and have many symptoms. These include chronic pain and sleep deprivation and in recent times, heard a radio discussion on the benefits of Withania(herb) in relation to chronic sleep issues. I have been taking Amiltryptiline(endep) (20 mg) per night for more than two years with ever decreasing benefits. I would like to know, can i take withania ,and the current drug(ENDEP) and remain safe!! I look forward to your assistance with the above, Kind regards, R.Byrne

I think you should continue with amitryptiline, especially if it actually helps you. This is one of the safest tricyclic anti drepressant drugs used under these circumstances.
You might need to associate other measures like exercise, diet and psychotherapy from a psychologist. You must discuss any tapering or withdrawal plans with your physician before taking any decisions.
