What Are The Different Causes For Hearing Impairment ?

I did a blunder mistake by allowing a street vendor to clean my Ear by Q-tool and pouring some oil (little hot) in my ears. Q-tool was Ok but Oil did some damge to my ears. There is a acute hearing loss in left ear and little in right. Earlier there was some feeling of liquid in ears. I consulted ENT doctor . After having medicin for 3 weeks, liquid feeling eliminated but hearing loss (feels like in plane) and little ringing is also there in left ear. Doctors says there is swalling in eardrum but not ruptured. I never had any ear problem in my life before that incident and now after 3 months still I am facing hearing loss. My question are- (1) If eardrum not ruptured still it can impact middle ear or inner ear( rinnging issue). (2) What are the possible damage to my ear

Hi Amit
Welcome to HealthcareMagic.

Firstly , it is not necessary to pour any oil into ear , as ear has the capacity to produce the wax needed.
Secondly , this oil must have caused a damage to eardrum and middle ear.
I will answer your questions now :
1)Even if eardrum is not ruptured , swelling of eardrum can effect middle ear.It could be possible that this swelling can be due to damage in middle ear.
2)Since there is not perforation , you have got a better diagnosis. There could be possibility that your ear parts had heat trauma and the recovery varies with other associated condition.
I advise you to visit a Higher center and get evaluated thoroughly .As you have been suffering for the past 3 months , Surgical option can be thought of based on investigations.
