Alopecia areata is loss of hear in patches. We believe the cause is an autoimmune disorder killing off hair follicles. At the onset of hair loss injecting the area with steroids may help reduce the loss and may help regain hair growth. But despite treatment you may loss hair permanently I hope this answers your question. Please contact HCM again with your health care concerns and questions

No need to worry because Alopecia areata is benign condition. You can take treatment after coming back to your country. In my clinic i use Intralesional steroids (Triamcinolone acetonide) as the first-line treatment in localized conditions. Full recovery of hair is usually common. Thanx.

Hi and thanks for using our services. Sorry to hear about this. Serial injections with steroids directly into the affected site is the treatment of choice. Hope this helps and wish you well. Dr. Ditah, MD
