hi, limit intake of foods rich in uric acid like meat, shell fish, beans etc. reduce alcohol- avoid beer. you may use simple pain killers but they will only reduce symptoms. hope this helped.

Gout is an inflammatory joint condition secondary to the deposition of urate crystals in a joint. Usually people with gout have high urate in their blood. Most people present with a very painful red swollen joint, classically in the big toe although it can be anywhere. Treatment consists of an anti-inflammatory in the acute phase of the condition and then a drug to reduce urate levels long term.
