Had Gastric Bypass, Diagnosed With Malnourishment And Vitamin Deficiency. Permanent Cure? Thyroid Related?

I had gastric bypass about 5 years ago...and this past year, I just have not been feeling like myself. One issue is I had been diagnosed with malnourishment, and a vitamin deficiency. So, we have combated those problem (with high protein intake, and a liquid vitamin that I can absorb), and now...I have problems with memory and tolerating the cold, so i currently take Vyvanse . I have also lost a substantial amount of my hair, and my neck seems to be larger than usual. My primary doctor had me to get a thyroid scan and blood test, and both appeared normal. I am still not satisfied with this diagnosis, because I still have symptoms that are not normal. is there any other testing that could eliminate or validate the thyroid as an issue? have you known there to be any association with irregular thyroid and gastric bypass?

Hello,
It is not necessary that your memory problems and intolerance to cold should be associated with hypothyroidism only, although these are classical features of hypoythyroidism.
Memory loss could be because of deficiencies of VIT B12 and thymine.
Similarly loosing of hair is possible because of severe deficienciencies of minerals
Like iron, calcium, protein, various b complex vitamins like B12,folate and thiamine.
Intolerance to cold may be due to loss of protective layer of fats and so when you loose weight, that protective covering of fat also goes away.
Thanks
