I suggest you to have gastroscopy done. Stomach cancer needs to be ruled out. If you already had it, and pantoprazole is not helping, consult general surgeon and consider fundoplication surgery. It may be helpful.

Hi Mr Gopal, You seem to be suffering from GERD where stomach acid refluxes into your food pipe. Sometimes the acid can travel to your mouth, especially when sleeping and can go down to your windpipe . This will result in spasm of the throat and gasping. You need treatment with an antacid (pantocid) and a pro-kinetic (perinorm, domperidone). If this fails you will need surgery (Fundoplication).
