hello there. usually the paper which we use in day to day life are recyclable type. hence they would get digested when eaten. However if there is severe urge or craving where you cannot stop yourself from eating then you are advised to visit a psychiatrist for help. However, few paper items are mixed with plastic like paper plate coated with plastic etc. eating them may cause cancer.

doctor1 MD

I had gone through your query and understand your concern.my advise to consult psychiatrist regarding this.as such eating paper bits occasionaly wont cause cancer.but if you have eating paper regularly you are more prone for gastric problems i would be glad to provide answers to any further queries. Thanks for using HMC Have a good day! Regards Dr. V.KUMARAGURU general surgeon
