Hi,It is known as Exfoliative keratolysis,common skin condition characterized by recurrent peeling that often affects the palms,soles and some pressure areas.Cause not known.It is a mild and benign skin condition that often resolves spontaneously without lifelong damages.Soap and detergents might worsen.It is limited only to the hands or feet.Emolients and moisturisers might improve the condition.

I believe I just answered this question. Exfoliation can clearly complicate the healing process in acne and should not be done for any purpose of clearing the scars from acne.
