Have Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. Delayed Surgery. Guide

I was told that I have thoracic outlet syndrome a few years ago. I have delayed making any decision regarding this surgery, because of the uncertainty or hesitation to answer my questions regarding this issue. It seems like a gray area for some doctors, so they pursue other symptoms. What avenue should I travel for an answer that is satisfactory. Thank you
