Abdominal Abscesses After Vaginal Hysterectomy. Blood Test, X-ray Normal. Could There Be Fluid Leaking After Surgery?

Hello: After a vaginal hysterectomy I developed abdominal abscesses. Had drainage and then surgery, lost 5 inches of my small intestines. I am 9 weeks post surgery, IV antibiotics for 8 weeks. For the past 7 days I have had abdominal pain predominately near resection yet intensifies and radiates into my back and upper abdomen. Had blood tests and xrays 4 days ago, all normal. I am taking pain meds again, limiting activity, and use of a heating pad helps sooth. Could there be fluid leaking this long after surgery?

Hello,
If there was in any fluid collection in the abdomen, it will show up in the ultrasound/ct/xrays. Pain after abdominal surgery is common. And you had supra-major surgery. hot fomentation and pain killers will help.Dont be completely immobile.
