What Is The Cause Of Light Spotting Before The Periods?

I have been experiencing light pink spotting by enough for a tampon, I vomit every time I ride in the car, my ribs hurt, and I feel pressure down there. I took a home pregnancy test yesterday and it was negative. My period doesn t usually start until the 1st? Could this be implantation bleeding?

Hi,

Minimal spotting, heaviness in the pelvis, nausea vomitings, etc. symptoms can be seen in early pregnancy and also in pre menstrual phase. So, just by symptoms we cannot come to one conclusion regarding the pregnancy. If you are not using any contraceptive method and if there is any possibility of pregnancy, please go for blood test for pregnancy once, which will give more accurate result compared with urine test.

If the serum beta HCG levels in blood test for pregnancy shows more than 25 mIU/mL, that confirms the possibility of pregnancy, less than 5 mIU/mL rules out the possibility of pregnancy. If the test gives negative result you may get your periods soon as expected. If the symptoms continues you can take symptomatic treatment with your doctor's advice with antiemetics and analgesics.
