What Are Causes Of Prolonged Cough In Babies?

Respected Dr. My son is suffering cough for one month.Particularly after sunset his coughing increases..We consulted Dr.s at Silchar (Assam). Pediatrician is of the opinion that there is no spasm and chest is clear. He prescribed one cough syrup and Odimont-lc syrup for 5 days. If there is no improvement, then he will do the necessary clinical test. My son s age is four and half month. I need your suggestion.

Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Presence of long standing cough, in the absence of other clinical evidence of pneumonia or asthma, one should consider the possibility of Hperactive airway disease possibly due to Laryngo-oesophageal reflux.
I would suggest you to discuss this probability with your Pediatrician.

Take Care

Best Regards
