Visitors And Chemotherapy,Is He Being Paranoid ?

My sister will be undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer. her husband thinks that she should have absolutely no visitors during this time period because of the chance of her getting sick (a cold, flu, etc). Is he being paranoid ? Can she have carefully screened visitors ?

Hi.. Chemotherapy agents can worsen body immunity and it may cause recurrent infection.. Presence of multiple individuals can make can increase the chances of infection.. Hence he may be right..
