Suggest Ways To Treat Social Phobia

What can one encourage a young man to do to have better quality life, like socialize outside his bedroom with relatives, or go to college? His parents especially his Dad is fearful his son s delicate social/life could be hindered instead of helped. His Dad is thinking what if help doesn t help? . Please, note I am not this young man s mother. I am only a relative.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to the health care magic

Yes according to history he is having social phobia or we can say social anxiety problem...

For that best management is to consult psychiatrist for cognitive behavioural counselling that is called psychotherapy...
With that he will gain confidence and phobia will be removed..
Moreover by behavioural counselling, his personality will also be built up...

Medication like selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors fluoxetine will be beneficial

Regular exercise will be beneficial

Take care

Hope your concern solved
