suffering from depression.

i can't root out the real cause of my problem,i feel most of the times either highly excited or completely mood off,in a word i can describe it as on/off state.if things around me goes in the way in which i like or way in which i expected them, than i feel happy state if not i will be worrying or completely feeling sad even for days for no reason.this kind of on/off behavior i see repeatedly in a day . if i get a work ,which if i feel more interested than i don't feel hunger or sleep ,even 4:00 am appears like 6:00pm to me and if i feel sad or less interest at work ,than also i don't get proper sleep nor i can take food and i see always a inner voice in me questioning about my past or my future .i couldn't shut it up.only thing to make that inner voice go calm is to have a sleep.i am really worried about this behavior and i am seeing this behavior from past 5 years.so please friends can u recommend a good doctor who can give me treatment at an affordable cost

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi,
thanks for using health care magic.
I have gone through your available history.
your symptoms can be attributed to
1) Bipolar mood disorder particularly if you are having one pole of mood i.e either sadness or cheerfulness for some days and that comes into the phases,
2) personality disorder
In any case , you should consult Psychiatrist for detailed evaluation and treatment.
in Bipolar mood disorder, doctor may prescribe lithium od divalprorex sodium like mood stabilizers.
thanks

hi man, seems you are suffering from bipolar disorder as Anu says.Bipolar disorder causes dramatic mood swings—from overly “high” and/or irritable to sad and hopeless, and then back again, often with periods of normal mood in between. Severe changes in energy and behavior go along with these changes in mood. The periods of highs and lows are called episodes of mania and depression.Even though episodes of mania and depression naturally come and go, it is important to understand that bipolar disorder is a long-term illness that currently has no cure. Staying on treatment, even during well times, can help keep the disease under control and reduce the chance of having recurrent, worsening episodes.

It is Bipolar disorderness and not depression which can be treated medically though it takes time of order of an year at your level of seriousness. Immidiately consult a Psychatrist if not already done.

See a psychaitrist this will help you a lot, you need counselling. If needed the psychiatrisdt may put you on some medications. One of my friend faced similar problem, now he is fine. So move out of it fast, you cannot live with the past

Donot worry these things happen, you should not be at home and think over this again and again, go out with the friends. Involve in some hobbies like reading books, listening to music, do some excercises like walking or swimming. Indulge in some thing which is interesting to you. Forget he past and start a new life.

Look the first thing to do at your age is to make sure you have enough exercise. It should not be difficult for you at such a young age. All you need is strong will power and then you can lose weight really quickly.

Yes man- take all the comments and all positively and start diet and exercise in full swing. You can then become fit and then talk back to all those who make fun of you now. Just think how nice it would be to see the faces of those who make fun of you now when you are slim?

I have a question but do not know what kind of doctor you are, I need to talk to a psychiatrist, this question is for them I suffer from Depression and having a hard time right now with school work, I have no motivation at all, keep putting things off, not eating, sleeping too much, feeling really really low. This is something that I have been living with since young age. I have been hospitalized over 25 times since age 17 and I am not 40 yrs old. I am scared that I am heading to hospital soon, I do not want to go back there but I wonder if it may help me to get a break from school and other things. I do not know what to do. All I want to do is sleep and escape. This is not good, I know that I am depressed, anything I do to try to help myself such as talking to others, going for walks, going to school, hanging around people during the day, I just do not know what to do anymore, I think I need to see my family doctor, just need some advice. I do have people in my life professionals to talk too but just need to know what someone else would tell me. Sorry if this is not the right doctor to ask for advice. i know what to do if this gets worse like go to the hospital i do know what i am supposed to do if things get worse just need some advice right now to figure out what i should do.

Recent questions on  Sleep apnea

doctor1 MD

YES, please, if you can. I had bariatric sleeve surgery Dec 13th and lost 65 lbs, for which I am grateful, my diabetes is now in control and I am back on just Metformin instead of insulin 5 times a day. My sleep apnea is in remission, but I have a noisy gut. I mean really LOUD. When I lay down to sleep at night the gut seems to talk all night long, if I open my mouth the noises amplify! Sometimes it is accompanied by pain and sometimes just the annoying noise. Every time I eat I get loud tummy rumbles, sometimes my tummy is very tender and sore. I have a lot of diahrea too, sometimes uncontrollable! I have diverticulitis and IBS , so I am aware of my stomach being a very tender area for my body and I never eat breads, rice, potatoes, pasta, white flour or white sugar. Is this a serious condition or is it just something I need to get used to and live around? The worst of it is truly when I get diahrea that is so out of control I don t know when I head for the bathroom at work if I will make it in time! Last week I did not, and had to go home, it was too embarrassing and I was exhausted and weak after the attack. I have oatmeal for breakfast every day and only take Imodium when it s really bad. What else can I do to live with this condition and prevent uncontrollable diahrea? I m 67, female, had a radical hysterectomy years ago, have had 4 hernia surgeries.

Hello, I have high blood pressure, and am a 21-year-old female. I have been prescribed a low-dose high blood pressure medication, and haven t had any complications with it. However, lately, I have been feeling like my chest is heavy and have had a hard time sleeping for quite some time. I wake up in the middle of the night gasping for air, and no matter how much sleep I get, I m exhausted when I wake up. I am starting to think it s Sleep Apnea, but am wondering if there are any other heart-associated links? There is S.A in my family - my father has it. Ideas?

I am a 65 year old lady, 5 9 , 142 lbs and have been suffering for approx 6years with pressure, ringing in both ears. I have been treated for TMJ with dental appliances and trigger point injections. I have been diagnosed with sleep apnea and sleep with a CPAP machine I am now trying Prolotherapy in the TMJ joint ($150.00) per injection. I am also seeing an upper cirvical chiropractor for a shifted atlas. The muscles in my neck are very tight and I have a continuous headache. Xrays and MRI show a weakness in the muscles on the right side where I first started with the pain. When I first started with this I awoke with no hearing on the right side and my doctor said it was alergies and it would go away when the weather changed in the fall. Some of the hearing came back but I then had the ringing and headaches. I also now have a hearing aid to overcome the muffled sound and ringing in my right ear. I am tired all of the time and find it hard to concentrate. I do not have medical coverage. Any ideas would be most appreciated. Eileen My ears ache
