Hi,I am Dr. Carol Rogala (Emergency Medicine). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Earlier today my mom went to the emergancy room for heart and pain in her arms. I looked on WebMD for anwers and they said it might have been a sign of a heart attack my dad just called me and said that she was still in the ER hooked up to a bunch of machines. Is it a heart attck? If not what is it? and what will they do?
ask the nurse/doctor what the ck and trops are.. if it's + more likely she had a heart attack... if negative, they;ll just probably have her do a stress test in the am. the telemetry monitor is just there to monitor her heart rhythm and for any changes... they'll be giving her some betablocker, aspirin, and some type of blood thinner (heparin or lovenox). if she is positive for a heart attack they'll refer her to a cardiologist
