Side Effects Of Beta Cap Tr. I Have A Cronic Migrain And Also Had Brain Stroke
hi doctor I have a cronic migrain and also had brain stroke just six weak back and now taking beta cap tr 40 mg in morning and 80 mg in night Pl let me know if their are any side effects of this if i take for long time.

Just take the medicine as directed by your Doctor and go for regular follow up. It is a excellent drug which is prescribed for prophylaxis of Migraine. The side effects include, lightheadedess, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation or rash. But, don't worry about the side effects just take it as prescribed. Good Luck.

The side effects are not specific for long term use , as in long term it may safeguard the cardiac function.
The general side effects are related to reduction in blood pressure like Cold extremities,dizziness, CNS disturbances might be seen at higher doses .

Betacap is a relatively safe drug. Side effects are mainly due to reduction of heart rate and it includes light headedness. It is contraindicated in asthamatics.
I dose you are receiving right now is a little too high for anti migraine, consult your doctor again for the same and look for alternative drug like sibelium as an addition

There are several drugs for the prophylaxis of migraine. If Betacap Tr is given for migraine in that dose , i am not sure if that is the best choice in old age and in stroke when cerebral perfusion is already compromised. However, s/e are mainly extreme weakness, lethargy, dizziness, syncope, bradycardia rarely but is well tolerated in lower doses.
