Quiting Smoking In Pregnancy

Im 2 months pregnant and Im having a hard time quiting...I only smoke 3 cigarrettes per day...but I want to know if the patch(that I would cut into 4ths would be safer or the nicotene gum???

Hi.. It think nicotine patches would be better.. It atleast prevents the other side effects of the gums such as the gastric irritation that may occur due to accidental swallowing, gum pain and inflammation and so on.. But if you consider the safety on the pregnancy, they do not have much difference...

Hello.Welcome to HCM forum.Best option is to quit smoking as neither it is good for you and rather very bad for your child.You will have to display strong will power to achieve it.As a matter of fact both patches and nicotine gums are equally safe.Thanks and good luck.

have self determination and strong will and quit smoking for the good of the baby
nicotin ciggarets or patches are available but nicotin itself is not good for health
consult your gynecologist and follow advice .quit smoking and if can not avoid take nicotin gum

Smoking is injurious to health in any way and in pregnancy it is very very harmful. So best option is to quit smoking. Similarly, nicotine is also harmful in pregnancy. Best avoid it.
