my father is 92 and just diagnosed with colon rectal

my father is 92 and just diagnosed with colon rectal cancer with metastasis to the lungs and liver. He is diabetic and recently dx. with atrial fib. He has high blood pressure and has had a stroke in the past. He has been independent but has lost 20 lbs lately and is not eating well. We are thinking of not being very aggressive and allowing him to live out his life without treatment. He has no pain at present. Is this wise or would treatment help?

My father has been hospitalized for the past six days. He was admitted with sever rectal bleeding and also hemoglobin levels of 7. Two blood transfusions were done and also a colonoscopy. Drs diagnosed him with atrial venous malformations. That was yesterday however now his bleeding has changed from maroon in color to bright red and seems to be flowing at a more steady rate. Drs. Are going to do a more extensive colonoscopy. I guess my question is what other tests can be performed to determine the cause . Getting frustrated at this point that after six days really have not got any answers as to where or why bleeding severely? We don t want to think the worse as far as colon cancer but are wondering if he is misdiagnosed.

I had blood this morning in my bowel movement. The blood was bright red and on the toilet tissue there was a dark spot that appeared to me as maybe being a clot. i am a colon cancer patient having had a resection two years ago. i also recent spent 3 days in the hospital with what was diagnosed as a bowel obstruction. Your thoughts please.

48yo male, cigarette smoker approx half pack of cigarettes per day. Occasional alcohol use, maybe 3 to 4 times per year socially. Not overweight, 5 8 tall, 155# Diagnosed with diverticulitis several years ago. Have almost daily issues with rectal bleeding, hemmoriods. I belch a lot, regardless of what food or drink I intake. My stomach makes loud grumbling noises, daily. Mild pain in lower left abdomen almost constant. Left shoulder, and left arm ache. Sometimes sharp shoulder pain. Sometimes numbing feeling in arm, below elbow. Shoulder makes loud clicking noises when arm is lifted and or rotated. Last endoscopy/colonoscopy was in July 2014, found polyops throughout colon, nothing cancerous... Very uncomfortable, quite often. What should I ask dr to check for or examine?
